AGRIMONY

RECIPES:

Agrimony Infusion:

Drink 1 cup of boiling water infused with up to 2 tsp of the dried herb 3x a day.

Use the infusion as a wash for wounds, sores, eczema & varicose ulcers.
Use the infusion as a gargle for sore throats & nasal mucus.
Use a weak infusion (10 g herb to 500 ml water) as an eyewash for conjunctivitis.

Agrimony Tincture:

Cover dried Agrimony with strong vodka, leave in dark place for 14 days, strain.
A tincture is more potent & drying than the infusion & effective if the condition involves excess phlegm or mucus.
Use for cystitis, urinary infections, bronchitis & heavy menstrual bleeding.
Up to 4 ml 3x a day of the tincture,

Apply a poultice of the leaves for migraines.

For Incontinence:

2 parts Horsetail, 1 part Agrimony, 1 part Sumac.
Drink this tea 3x a day.

Parsley Cough Treatment:

Pour 2 ½ cups of boiling water over 2 tbsp of dried Agrimony flowers or leaves & 1 tbsp dried parsley.
Cover & steep until the mixture is cool.
Strain.
Use as a gargle to soothe sore throats.
To stop persistent coughs, take 2-3 tbsp of the infusion morning & evening.

Bath for Tension Headaches:

Put 30 g each of Mugwort, Valerian, Chamomile & Agrimony to 500 ml of boiling water.
Allow to simmer for 30 minutes.
Strain & add to bath water.
Also very good for aching muscles.

Diarrhea Tea:

3 tbsp Agrimony leaves
2 tbsp Self-heal
4 cups water
Combine the herbs in a pan; cover with the water; bring to a boil; reduce heat & simmer for 30 minutes; cool & strain.
Drink as needed, up to 1 cup a day.

Gout Tea:

4 tsp Agrimony leaves
2 tbsp Meadowsweet root
2 cups boiling water
Combine the herbs in a glass container & cover with the boiling water; steep for 30 minutes.
Cool & strain.
Take half a cup, up to 4x daily.

Catarrh Tea:

2 tsp Agrimony leaves
1 tsp Wild Bergamot leaves
1 cup boiling water
Combine the herbs & cover with the boiling water; steep 30 minutes, cool & strain.
Take up to 2 cups per day.

Antiseptic Wash:

30 g each: dried tops of Agrimony, Calamint, Fennel, Hyssop,Lemon Balm, Marjoram, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Savory, Thyme, Wormwood, a few fresh leaves of Angelica & Basil, fresh Lavender flowers.
Chop plants & combine with 1 l strong vodka.
Let stand for 14 days, then strain.


BEAUTY:
